I fabricated a custom lower cabinet with sliding trays, maple drawer fronts, and soft close doors. Up-cycled .75" plywood was used to construct the body of the cabinet, melamine sliding trays for durability and stain resistance, and modernized hinges and hardware.
The new unit had to fit the existing space leftover from the removal of the old built-in that housed the old oven, and correct a few functional problems with the old cabinet, and kitchen floor plan.
